The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference from the last hurdle to the line involving Arctic Flame, ridden by S.D. Torrens, placed first, and Bossy Bird, ridden by H.E. Sexton, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. H.E. Sexton stated that he was carried across the track and as he went to go by Arctic Flame his mount was impeded and almost came down. He added that he felt this interference had cost him the winning of the race. S.D. Torrens stated that his mount hung left from the second last despite his best efforts. He stated that he felt his mount won going away and that there was no room for a horse between him and the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Arctic Flame had caused interference to Bossy Bird he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that S.D. Torrens was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for four racedays.

S.D. Torrens, rider of Arctic Flame, trained by Patrick T. Foley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left up the straight.

H.E. Sexton, rider of Bossy Bird, trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his run was stopped and he would have won.

M.P. O'Connor, rider of Ellens Pride, trained by S. Curling, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled and pulled up.

P.K. Donovan, rider of Loughrask Jet, trained by Brian M. McMahon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung violently left throughout.

The Raceday Stewards held the result and enquired into the riding of Mr M. O'Flynn, rider of Western Roses, where it appeared he ran the wrong side of the wing in the straight and continued riding. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he ran out and accepted that he had taken the wrong course. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards disqualified Western Roses from fourth place under Rule 262(iv)(b)(horse having not run the proper course) and amended the Judges Placings to read as follows:

First: Hilly Filly
Second: Honey Bucks
Third: Tiger In New York
Fourth: Not A Whisper
Fifth: Indoor Sport
Sixth: Lavender Berry

Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards accepted that Mr M. O'Flynn was unable to pull up his mount and had to proceed with crossing the line and therefore they took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards received a report from Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, that Mr M. O'Flynn, rider of Western Roses had disobeyed his instructions. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Mr. D. Cullen stated that he had instructed Mr M. O'Flynn not to turn his mount into the other horses which disrupted the start. Mr M. O'Flynn stated that his instructions were to keep his mount away from the other horses as he can be very hot. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr M. O'Flynn was in breach of Rule 208(v)(b) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for one raceday.
